Heidenreichstein 2011

Report from the Euro boys!

Jan-Willem Jansen storms to victory in Heidenreichstein!

As the temperatures got hot, so did the racing! Heidenreichstein saw some very hot flat track action this past Sunday. With both Jansen brothers winning two of their heat races and Stefan Gatzenmeier right behind them every time, the three cup racers shared the front row for the all deciding 15 lap grand final on the tight Austrian dirt track. Second row saw the two new Czech riders Jan Vondrasek and Roman Janostak, joined by German Leo Eibl. Cup leader Mick Jansen made the hole shot, followed closely by Jan-Willem Jansen. On lap two Gatzenmeier passed JW Jansen. Then Mick Jansen went wide and slipped back to third. The Bavarian Cowboy had JW Jansen all over him and had to settle for second until Mick Jansen made up the lost ground and both riders racing side by side for more than a lap! Mick Jansen momentarily claimed back second spot!
10 year old Tobias Gatzenmeier received a warm welcome from the Austrian fans launching the new Junior class on a 100cc Honda! We hope more youngsters will follow in the footsteps of the hugely popular junior class in the UK and America.
